Counseling Practice of Jessica Wallner, MS, LCPC-c, NCC
in Biddeford, Maine

Coming to counseling can feel like taking a leap of faith. It takes courage to admit to ourselves that we are lost or uncertain. Being here means you’ve already taken an important step toward self-love and care. I’m glad you’re here.

I Believe That…

What connects most humans is our underlying drive for understanding, love, and belonging. We satisfy that drive by learning coping strategies and defense mechanisms to meet our needs and the needs of those around us. As our lives unfold and change, the ways in which we used to cope can become barriers to experiencing authenticity, meaning, and connection. Instead, we experience things like:

  • self-doubt
  • stress
  • chronic pain
  • anxiety
  • depression
  • grief
  • trauma
  • loneliness
  • and loss of direction

I collaborate with clients to heal and make meaning from the past, learn new skills, and manifest the life they want.

What To Expect From Inner Bloom Counseling

Jessica C Wallner, MS, LCPC-c, NCC

I believe that the most important part of counseling is in developing a therapeutic relationship based on mutual respect, safety, and collaboration. I try to bring compassion and humor to every session so that my clients can feel comforted and supported in accessing their vulnerability.

As a Conditionally Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, I am trained for work with individuals and groups in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness and interpersonal problems. Additionally, I am a certified yoga teacher and often draw from that experience to help client find more space and ease in body, mind, and spirit.

Office Location in Biddeford, Maine

The office is located on the main floor of the North Dam Mills in Biddeford, Maine. Parking and easy access to the building are available.

It’s important to me to provide a safe and cozy office space that soothes the senses so that clients can turn inward. You’ll find warm lamp lighting, tea, plants, and soft pillows. I often use incense and essential oils. The office also includes space for yoga mats as well as a sand tray for expressive work. When it’s appealing to clients, I will bring my dog Gammy for animal-assisted therapy.

Individual Counseling Services

I offer individual psychotherapy as an affiliate clinician through Health Affiliates of Maine. I accept Mainecare and self-pay on a sliding scale.

My approach is holistic, relational, attachment-based, and integrative. This means that I start by building a strong relationship and I work collaboratively with clients to determine which evidence-based approaches would be most appropriate at that time.

I like to offer psychoeducation to clients to offer context, build awareness, and help normalize many human experiences. I often draw from:

  • Polyvagal Theory
  • Interpersonal Neurobiology
  • Attachment Theory

When clients need to challenge thoughts and build skills, I utilize:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Other times, a more experiential approach is useful to help clients accept and allow their experience. With these cases, I will integrate:

  • Emotion-Focused Therapy
  • Somatic Approaches
  • Mindfulness Practices

When deeper issues related to family, past experiences, and spirituality come up, I will utilize approaches such as:

  • Psychodynamic
  • Existential
  • Family Systems
